Like any other industry in the market, Human Resources Industry is also evolving and trying to keep pace with its most important resource — human. Call them employees, workforce, or talent — they all are same and require same measure of positive engagement in an organization to be able to perform their optimum level.

To ensure organizations are able to attract, recruit, train and retain their top talent in an organization, human resource team and top management felt a need for another branch and thus talent management systems (or TMS) was born. The major role of TMS was to ensure employees were sufficiently trained not only for their present roles but are also being groomed for future leadership positions.

Though talent management is a new field and a separate entity from HRM, it is the responsibility of human resource team. Everything is fine but what is talent management? Going by the definition, Talent management is the complete range of human resource processes to attract, develop, motivate and retain high-performing employees.
